Let’s talk about skin extractions (commonly called “popping” or “squeezing” zits). You may think you are a pro up there in your bathroom or rear view mirror, but taking matters into your own hands is a very, very bad idea. Skin extractions should only be performed by a skin care professional at the salon or clinic. Why?

Prep Work – your skin must be adequately prepared prior to extractions, involving more than just washing your face. Your skin care professional knows how to do this.

Being Deceived – not all blemishes are okay to extract. Your skin care professional knows what is okay and what it not okay to extract. The possibility of spreading infection and making matters worse is HIGH when you do it yourself. A blackhead forced out of a pore that is not ready can leave a scar ( scar – a.k.a. a HOLE in your Face).

Bad Bugs – your bathroom may seem like a great place for extractions, bright lights, magnifying mirror, lots of room, etc. But it is not. An unsterile environment can lead to infection (MORE blemishes). Very strict disinfection measures are taken by your skin care professional to ensure a super-clean environment. A can of cleaner and some paper towels will not cut it.

The After Math – after extraction, special precautions need to be taken. Your esthetician will apply profession-use only products to the treated areas to prevent bacteria from re-invading the pores and causing more breakouts.

This service is used to remove hair at the root, reducing the coarseness and allowing the hair to grow in thinner. This procedure allows you to go 3-4 weeks with minimal maintenance in between.
